Mulled Wine

As promised here is my Mulled Wine recipe. I love the smell that fills the house when making this lovely drink. I’ve used red wine, but you can make it with Rose wine if you like. Be careful not to let the wine boil or you will lose the alcohol, which wouldn’t be good! ⠀ 1 bottle red wine⠀ 100 ml Brandy⠀ 2 clementines ⠀ 4 whole cloves⠀ 1 cinnamon stick ⠀ 1 star anise ⠀ 2 cardamom pods⠀ 100g caster sugar ⠀ ⠀ Pour the wine into a sauce pan and put on a gentle heat. Now add the sugar and spices. Cut the clementines in half and squeeze the juice of one into the wine. Push the cloves into the skin of the other clementine and place them into the wine. Bring the wine to a very gentle simmer to dissolve the sugar and infuse the wine for about 20 mins, but do not let it boil or you will lose the alcohol! Turn off the heat and add the brandy for an extra kick.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
