Here is a lovely budget friendly midweek meal. Hearty, delicious, simple to make and something the whole family will enjoy.

Serves 4

3 banana shallots or 2 small onions - finely chopped

4-5 cloves garlic - crushed

1 pack of extra special sausages - snipped with scissors

1 tin or cherry tomatoes

350g dried orzo - cooked

Optional basil leaves torn

METHOD

Sauté the onions until soft, add the chopped sausages and cook until slightly browned. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Pour in the tomatoes, check for seasoning, cover with a lid and simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes. Cook the pasta a little less than packet instructions. Drain. Add the pasta to the sauce, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with basil and drizzle with olive oil.

This recipe looks like the perfect kind of comforting meal for a busy weeknight. I love simple dishes like this where a few basic ingredients come together to make something filling and tasty for the whole family. I was browsing https://www.www.drslot.co.uk.co.uk/online-slots/ earlier, but this sausage and tomato orzo definitely caught my attention more — it looks easy enough to try even on a hectic day. Definitely adding this one to my list of meals to make soon.
